The Better Health Channel (BHC) was established in May 1999 by the Victorian Government. The information on the site aims to help improve the health and wellbeing of the Victorian community. The website provides locally relevant and reliable online health and medical information and allows you to find a health practitioner, health service or support group by postcode.

Health promotion is a powerful, cost-effective and efficient way to maintain a healthier community. It enables people to increase control over and improve their health. Often overlooked in years gone by because of the “pressures of work” and men’s “reluctance” to make time to see a doctor, men’s health is today being given the attention it deserves.  And consequently, men today are far more aware of their health and well-being.
